Brooklyn Museum New York, 20th November, 2009
A symposium of jewellery experts held by the American Society of Jewelry Historians where Deanna Farneti Cera was one of the speakers: "I enjoyed every minute of it! The other speakers were: Janet Zapata (Historian, Lecturer, Author and Curator), Patricia Kiley Faber (Lecturer, Author and Retailer) and Jane Adlin (Assoc. Curator, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Scholar and Author). Dr. Barry Harwood (Curator of the exhibition The Modernist Jewelry of Art Smith) organised, for people who attended the Symposium, a guided tour of the exhibition. During the event, Jean Appleton, Founder of the American Society of Jewelry Historians, was honoured for her extraordinary leadership and ongoing work on the behalf of the Society. One of the most enjoyable parts was our visit to The Modernist Jewelry of Art Smith exhibition, which had recently been donated to the Brooklyn Museum. The exhibition was shown together with pieces of studio jewellery belonging to the museum's permanent collection".
